Leslie Hunter is the owner of the Flying L Ranch and the host and guide of your equestrian vacation. A registered outfitter/guide with the Oregon State Marine Board, Leslie has nearly 30 years of hands-on experience working with horses. She has provided thousands of people – from novice to expert riders - with safe and exhilarating trail rides, horseback riding retreats, and equestrian adventures. Ms. Hunter offers a variety of custom rides, including the Wild Women Ride, which brought together more than 100 women for a fantastic, fun-filled, female-only weekend of camaraderie and riding. The hugely popular annual rides were featured in a regional horse magazine, The Cascade Horseman.
An active member of the local community for more than two decades, Leslie loves the outdoors and enjoys sharing her extensive knowledge of horsemanship, local vegetation and wildlife with others.
Tim McGinnis has ridden over 1,000 horses in his life, and he says, "can count the number of times he's been bucked off on two hands!" Born in Faith, South Dakota, Tim spent 27 years working on large-scale ranches in Nevada – "100,000 acre spreads" – starting colts. Tim is a soft-spoken cowboy, who says he has "no certificates or diplomas," just the good fortune of having worked with many, many great cowboys.
In 1983, he became interested in natural horsemanship, and has worked and ridden with Ray Hunt, Martin Black, Tom Dorrance, Pat Parelli, and "many others who are not well known, but who knew a lot." Tim conducts clinics at Flying L Ranch, an excellent opportunity for you to spend a relaxing weekend learning with your horse. The peaceful ranch setting is ideal for the personal attention you'll receive while honing your skills with fellow participants.
